Building safety organizations and experts from around the country gathered in Florida to examine the safety of existing buildings, guidance for building owners and how future disasters can be prevented. The event was held in the wake of the Champlain Towers South condominium collapse focusing on topics on frequency of inspections, structural safety, maintenance and the application of current building codes.
Our Daytona team participated in the Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University's first Job Shadow Day and hosted an engineering student for a visit to our office. Students had the opportunity to shadow our team members and get real life experience on how engineers tackle engineering challenges from design to decommissioning.
Our Vice President of Engineering John Bonacci has spent his career absorbing knowledge in the practice, research and teaching of structural design and engineering. As a technical leader he has contributed to over 30 publications, sharing his expertise with others to expand the current thinking within the industry.
The Karins team had a successful day at the 2021 AIA Florida Convention & Trade Show! We had a great time at our booth where we shared our insights in structural engineering and restoration to other industry experts.
